Happy Fourth of July! I re-printed "I've Moved On" burning bridge cards today, so I will have plenty on hand when I get back from traveling. The Half Empty Press etsy shop will be closed from July 16th through August 16th while my girlfriend and I visit the Netherlands and Germany...so no orders will be filled during that time.
The bridge featured on the "I've Moved On" cards is the Hawthorne Bridge in Portland, Oregon, and that's where I'm going to be tonight--watching fireworks from my bike. The bombs-bursting-in-air aspect of the Fourth of July is not my cup of tea from a political perspective, but I sure do love fireworks.

Orders!
Sent out this week:
Wholesale order to MixtGoods...all the free PIF cards I gave away...and a burning bridge card for Carolyn!
I'm reprinting "Sorry Isn't Good Enough".
And I'd love for the weather to stay warm so the seeds I planted in my backyard will come up! There's a good chance I'll be building myself a studio out there fairly soon so I can move my letterpress out of the dining room. Won't that be great?

Now open!
Now that Half Empty Press has been around for a year, it seems like it's time to have a blog to talk about what's new and how things are going.
New this month: "Sorry Isn't Good Enough" cards--I thought of this as a sympathy card for an especially sarcastic friend who died of cancer. Never got up the guts to send it to his family, as I wasn't sure they would appreciate it. But from me to him, here it is. And from me to you--I'm sure you can think of ways to use it! Let someone know you're not going to accept their apology. Or use it to let someone know that words can't express the depths of your regret. It's not often that one card can hold two nearly opposite meanings at the same time.
Reprinted this month: "Dinner Party" invitations--I made the design for this card with help from Jessica Jewel several years ago (for my own party!) and this is the first time it's been available for sale. My mom loves this card. Maybe you will too.
